{"id":65903,"date":"2021-10-27T08:14:56","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T12:14:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=65903"},"modified":"2021-10-28T15:59:51","modified_gmt":"2021-10-28T19:59:51","slug":"how-to-celebrate-halloween-in-northern-bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/how-to-celebrate-halloween-in-northern-bc\/","title":{"rendered":"How to celebrate Hallowe&#8217;en safely in northern BC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When provincial restrictions lifted in summer, the Northern Health region saw an increase in COVID-19 cases.\u00a0Large gatherings without proof of vaccination (or even masks) were partly responsible for the upswing in more COVID-19 cases in the north.<\/p>\n<p>The Northern Health Authority sent out a release on Oct. 14 asking residents to <a href=\"https:\/\/stories.northernhealth.ca\/news\/additional-health-measures-introduced-stop-covid-spread-and-protect-health-services-most\">please adhere to more strict measures of the Public Health Order in October<\/a> after a number of outbreaks across the region.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, over the Hallowe'en weekend, vaccinations hadn't been distributed widely, so social distancing and mask-wearing encouraged for those celebrating. Trick or treaters were encouraged against knocking on doors, and safe events popped up in communities across the north.<\/p>\n<p>Not much has changed for this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/northern-health-anomaly-in-kitimat-vax-numbers\/\">as many communities in the north are still fighting low vaccination rates.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, how can northerners get their spook on this year?
