The only change on council from the previous term was that Lois Smith, who served the municipality for 33 years, stepped down and was replaced in seat 5 by Josey Bouchard.<\/p>\n<p>The newly elected mayor said that he was proud of what his council accomplished in the previous four years, from the splash pad project, to dealing with the 2019 flooding and aging municipal infrastructure:<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-63506-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Clip-Maurice-Beauregard-accomplishments.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Clip-Maurice-Beauregard-accomplishments.mp3\">https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Clip-Maurice-Beauregard-accomplishments.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Beauregard said that though none of the seats on council were contested, he believes there is public interest in municipal politics and that residents trust the current council to keep things on the right track.
