After the deadline to register as a candidate for the municipal elections passed on Friday afternoon, Litchfield Mayor Colleen Larivi\u00e8re was elected by acclamation to her third mandate. She said that facing no opposition was a sign from the population that they were content with her previous mandates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very grateful that I\u2019ve got another four years ... without any competition I guess you could say, but for me it shows that the population is satisfied, so that\u2019s the important thing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said that some of the accomplishments that she was proud of during her time in office were the construction of the municipal office and the construction of Keon Road to circumvent a dangerous exit on Hwy. 148.<\/p>\n

As far as priorities for the next four years, Larivi\u00e8re said that they were planning on working closely with the Campbell\u2019s Bay council to build a new fire hall for the department that the two municipalities share.<\/p>\n\n
