On Monday\u2019s Tantramar Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday, about\u00a060 people gathered on the Mount Allison campus for a climate strike<\/strong>, CHMA news bring you some of their voices.<\/p>\n

We also look into\u00a0what happened to gates on the rail trail\u00a0<\/strong>designed to keep ATV\u2019s and other motorized vehicles off the trails.<\/p>\n

Two residents of the Drew Nursing Home have passed away<\/strong>\u00a0with COVID-19. In a letter to families on Sunday, Drew director Linda Shannon said thoughts and prayers were with the family and friends of the deceased, and also \u201cwith all our residents and staff who are going through such a difficult time.\u201d There have been 31 cases diagnosed since September 13 at the Drew, 24 in residents and 7 in staff.\u00a0More here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far this month, 8 people have died with COVID-19 in the province. A total of 54 have died since the pandemic began. On Sunday,\u00a0the province announced another death<\/strong>, this time someone in their 40s in Zone 1 passed away with the disease.<\/p>\n

27 new cases<\/strong>\u00a0were reported in Zone 1 on Sunday, with 12 in people 19 and under. The rest of the cases are in age groups ranging up to 90 and over. 18 of the new Zone 1 cases are still under investigation by public health, and 9 were contacts of previous cases.<\/p>\n

Port Elgin Regional School continues on at-home learning today.<\/strong>\u00a0Last week, the school was moved online Monday and Tuesday, and then again on Thursday and Friday. A spokesperson for Anglophone East School District said Friday\u2019s closure was due to the number of students and staff that are isolating.<\/p>\n

Music New Brunswick<\/strong>\u00a0has published its list of nominees for this year\u2019s awards, and there\u2019s few local names on the list. On Friday we mentioned\u00a0Levee on the Lake is up for two awards<\/strong>, Innovator of the Year and Event\/Festival of the Year. There\u2019s also some others:<\/p>\n

Ventus Machina<\/strong>\u2014a woodwind quintet featuring Mount Allison professors Karin Aurell, James Kalyn, and Patrick Bolduc\u2014are up for album of the year for their latest release, Roots. They are also up for video of the year for Blackbird.<\/p>\n

Erstwhile Sackvillian\u00a0Beverly Glenn Copeland<\/strong>\u00a0is up for three awards: album of the year for Transmissions: The Music of Beverly Glenn-Copeland; song of the year for River Dreams; and video of the year for Sunset Village.<\/p>\n
