{"id":59329,"date":"2021-09-09T17:25:55","date_gmt":"2021-09-09T21:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=59329"},"modified":"2021-09-09T17:25:55","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T21:25:55","slug":"pontiac-ppc-candidate-speaks-about-economic-policy-government-regulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/pontiac-ppc-candidate-speaks-about-economic-policy-government-regulation\/","title":{"rendered":"Pontiac PPC candidate speaks about economic policy, government regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Pontiac candidate for the People\u2019s Party of Canada, David Bruce Gottfred, spoke with CHIP 101.9 about his candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>An engineer by trade, he describes himself as a \u201csemi-retired\u201d stay-at-home father and currently resides with his wife and two children in Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>He has previous political experience working on the 2006 and 2008 campaigns for Lawrence Cannon, the Conservative MP for Pontiac who served from 2006 to 2011.<\/p>\n<p>He said he made the switch to the PPC because of his interest in economic policy and concern about the country\u2019s debt load, and said that they were the only party that advocates \u201cfinancial realism\u201d. He also said that the increasing government restrictions had him \u201cvery concerned\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The PPC advocates against COVID-19 restrictions and their leader, Maxime Bernier, has said that vaccination and masking should be a personal choice.
