The town is asking anyone with information to call the RCMP.<\/p>\n<p>RCMP daily occurrence reports for the Sackville detachment show\u00a0<strong>two break, enter and thefts in private residences over the weekend<\/strong>. In one incident, a vehicle was stolen. Investigations are ongoing in both.\u00a0 In the past week, RCMP have recovered two stolen vehicles in the Sackville detachment area, though investigations into each are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The town of Sackville will be introducing\u00a0<strong>kayak and canoe rentals at Silver Lake in 2022<\/strong>, thanks to a $15,000 prize won by residents in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge.\u00a0 Town staff hosted an online survey to help select where to spend the money, and more than half (54%) of the 252 voters chose canoe and kayak rentals at Silver Lake. 23% of voters chose Walker Road trail enhancements, 19% chose recreation program subsidies, and just 4% chose enhancements to the existing equipment loan program run by Sackville recreation.<\/p>\n<p>Vitalit\u00e9 Health Network is hosting a\u00a0<strong>drop-in vaccination clinic in Sackville tomorrow\u00a0<\/strong>at the Tantramar Veterans\u2019 Memorial Civic Centre. From 12:30pm to 7:30pm, the clinic will offer both Pfizer and Moderna doses, and appointments are not required.\u00a0 On Thursday, the Corner Drug Store will run a drop in clinic offering doses of the Pfizer vaccine from 10am to 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the province announced it met its\u00a0<strong>\u201875% of eligible\u2019 vaccination target<\/strong>, which was originally announced as the trigger for the end of public health restrictions in the province.\u00a075% of the population 12 and over, or nearly 67% of the full population, have now received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.\u00a0 More have received a single dose: nearly 85% of those 12 and over, and just over 75% of the full population.<\/p>\n<p>In local vaccination milestones, the Corner Drug Store pharmacy in Sackville gave its\u00a0<strong>7000th COVID-19 vaccination<\/strong>\u00a0over the weekend.\u00a0 11-year old Deyshaun Tower received the milestone dose on Saturday. Deyshaun became newly eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine after the province extended eligibility to anyone turning 12 by December 31 of this year.<\/p>\n<p>With voter turnout in the 18-24 age group already the lowest across the age spectrum, the decision by\u00a0<strong>Elections Canada to abandon its campus polling program<\/strong>\u00a0is garnering criticism, and could mean young and new voters are not fairly represented in the election on September 20. We hear from Hannah Ehler, a vice president with the Mount Allison Students\u2019 Union, with her thoughts on the Elections Canada move, and information on what\u2019s happening in Sackville to help get out the student vote.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHMA programmer Aura Lynn Groomes has taken home a top prize<\/strong>\u00a0in the National Campus and Community Radio Association annual awards.\u00a0 Groomes\u2019 show, Full Disclosure, which airs Saturdays at 6pm, won the Woman\u2019s Hands and Voices award at the annual awards for community radio in Canada.
