{"id":56483,"date":"2021-08-13T13:25:31","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T17:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=56483"},"modified":"2021-08-13T16:28:26","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T20:28:26","slug":"klahoose-bear-watching-tours-starting-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/klahoose-bear-watching-tours-starting-in-september\/","title":{"rendered":"Klahoose bear-watching tours starting in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Grizzly Bear Tours by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.klahoosecoastaladventures.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Klahoose Coastal Adventures<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are soon kicking off for the season and are items on a growing menu of the company\u2019s tourism offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CKTZ News spoke about the wild bear tours with Bruno Pereira, general manager of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/qathen-xwegus?trk=organization-update_share-update_update-text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (QXMC), which oversees all the business ventures and economic development for the Klahoose First Nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He explained that the Grizzly Bear Tour season is short, just 6-8 weeks in September and October, and there has been a lot of interest already. In 2020, it was also public demand, relayed from partners in Campbell River, that made Klahoose Coastal Adventures reconsider their pandemic closure. As a result, they had a highly successful season and hope for the same in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intensive safety protocols are in place to protect both guests and wildlife: the visitors are transported from the beach to the bear-watching towers by bus, and food as well as any kind of provocation of the animals is strictly prohibited.
