Adeana and I spoke last year when the Haida had declared a state of emergency on the waters of Haida Gwaii, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.haidanation.ca\/haida-gwaii-state-of-emergency-and-luxury-lodges-a-timeline-of-2020\/\">a state of emergency that was not respected by the sport fishermen of Queen Charlotte Fishing Lodge<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Or, maybe it\u2019s her work as a councillor of the Old Masset Village Council or even her artistic work as lead actress in the Haida language film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skagwaytraditional.org\/new-events\/2020\/3\/14\/sgaawaay-kuuna-film-screening\"><span class=\"s2\">SGaawaay K\u2019uuna<\/span><\/a> (<i>The Edge of the Knife<\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Last month, she released her run for the Green Party of Canada for Skeena Bulkley-Valley, a riding that has remained NDP-majority since 2004. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">CICK News spoke with Adeana Young on July 19, just shortly after an announcement that Green Party leader Annime Paul\u2019s leadership position could be suspended due to an alleged hostile work environment and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/politics\/green-party-executive-launches-membership-review-of-its-own-leader-annamie-paul-1.5509199\"><span class=\"s2\">one day before the federal council would conduct a non-confidence vote<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Listen to the clip below for the full interview:<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adeana Young lives on Haida Gwaii in Gaw\u00a0Tlagee, or Old Masset Village on the north end of the island.
