{"id":54022,"date":"2021-07-22T12:37:13","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T16:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=54022"},"modified":"2021-07-22T17:13:18","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T21:13:18","slug":"tantramar-report-sackville-town-council-weighs-in-on-local-governance-reform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/tantramar-report-sackville-town-council-weighs-in-on-local-governance-reform\/","title":{"rendered":"Tantramar Report: Sackville town council weighs in on local governance reform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Thursday on Tantramar Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sackville town council has approved its input to the province\u2019s municipal reform process, and it calls for county-style governments for local service districts, but no forced amalgamations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EOS Eco Energy has posted the job of Climate Change Coordinator for the Town of Sackville. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EOS says it\u2019s looking for \u201ca dynamic individual\u201d to work out of its Sackville office for a six-month period on implementation of the town\u2019s adaptation and emissions reduction action plans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EOS and the town of Sackville are collaborating on another project underway now at town hall: the expansion of the green roof. EOS says thanks to federal Eco Action funding, the expanded roof will create a community green space, help save energy, and reduce stormwater runoff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In COVID-19 news, the provincial rate for second dose vaccinations reached 60 per cent on Wednesday, as no new cases were reported. There are seven active cases left in the province, with six of those in Zone 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mel\u2019s Tea Room is open again for in person dining. The bridge street landmark has been open for takeout only for many months, due to COVID-19 restrictions and renovations.
