The optimism for the future of Canada\u2019s transportation industry is not exclusive to Mulroney. TTC Senior Communications Advisor, Stuart Green feels that the fall of 2021 is a target that feels attainable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got this sort of longer-range plan for the balance of 2021\u2026 we\u2019ve imagined that maybe in September or October of this year, we will have returned to something resembling normal, pre-pandemic kind of service levels, \u201c Green states.<\/p>\n<p>Canadians have begun to get vaccinated with over 4 million doses delivered according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/covid19tracker.ca\/vaccinationtracker.html\">COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker.\u00a0<\/a>The success of the vaccine rollout will affect the faith commuters have in returning to normalcy. There is a rush to leave the pandemic behind, but several of the practices from 2020 will remain going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Metrolinx lost roughly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/toronto\/go-transit-ridership-covid-19-pandemic-1.5530950\">90%<\/a>\u00a0of its ridership last year. While profits plummeted, expenses went up and additional safety measures were put in place to maintain cleanliness standards. Metrolinx spokesperson Nitish Bissonauth thinks these measures will be around long-term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety measures that you see currently on our system, whether it\u2019s on our vehicles or at our stations, they\u2019re not going away, right?
