There were numerous reactions following the announcement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Francois Legault on the Op\u00e9ration haute-vitesse \u200b\u200bprogram, which aims to connect all of Quebec to high-speed Internet by September 2022.<\/p>\n

Mathieu Lacombe, the minister of families and minister responsible for the Outaouais region, as well as the MP for the Pontiac and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Industry and Science William Amos have confirmed that in the region, this operation will allow more than 29,000 homes to be connected to high-speed Internet by September 2022.<\/p>\n

For the Outaouais region, $147.4 million will be invested in order to ''speed up the connection of all households to the infrastructure in the region.<\/p>\n

Amos commented on this program:<\/p>\n\n

Op\u00e9ration haute-vitesse \u200b\u200bis a joint initiative of the governments of Canada and of Quebec to ensure the connection of 150,000 homes to high-speed internet, thanks to unprecedented agreements with six of the largest telecommunications companies in Quebec (Videotron, Cogeco, Bell, Xplornet, Sogetel and TELUS).<\/p>\n

Under this context, the entire Pontiac MRC should be connected by September 2022, according to government deadlines. Op\u00e9ration haute-vitesse \u200b\u200bwill allow Quebec to post the highest connectivity rate in Canada, with a score of 99 per cent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
