{"id":46033,"date":"2021-03-14T05:25:23","date_gmt":"2021-03-14T09:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=46033"},"modified":"2021-03-14T05:33:59","modified_gmt":"2021-03-14T09:33:59","slug":"prince-george-football-allstar-playing-second-year-with-edmonton-huskies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/prince-george-football-allstar-playing-second-year-with-edmonton-huskies\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince George football Allstar playing second year with Edmonton Huskies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prince George athlete Oak Adams is looking forward to returning to the football field after COVID-19 cancelled the 2020-2021<a href=\"https:\/\/www.princegeorgecitizen.com\/sports\/junior-football-huskies-latch-on-to-adams-1.23857122\"> Edmonton Huskies\u2019<\/a> football season. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen you're playing at a high level, it\u2019s hard to come back and play after you haven\u2019t been playing but I've been staying in really good physical shape and I'm confident that I\u2019ll be able to go back and play,\u201d said Adams about the challenges of putting his football career on hold during COVID-19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adams reflects back on his first season with the Huskies in 2019 noting, \u201ccoming in, I really had to pave my own way, especially coming from a small town\u2026it was honestly a lot of hard work and a lot of fighting.\u201d Adams is one of just a handful of Huskies from BC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Building close connections with coaches and other players on the team made it easier for Adams to adjust. The hard work paid off as his athletic abilities became an apparent advantage for the team. \u201cAs a first year, I was one of the fastest there\u201d, states Adams.
