The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club (YVOC) is hosting a virtual event in celebration of International Women\u2019s Day this upcoming Saturday.<\/p>\n
The YVOC is a \u201cgroup of women whose main purpose and mission is to help the youth and children of the region of Brome Missisquoi,\u201d explained Lucy Davis, YVOC member.<\/p>\n
To celebrate all the women in the community, the YVOC is also hosting a virtual health and fitness fair. It will be a fundraiser to raise money for the events to help the children in the upcoming year. The health and fitness fair will be hosted via Zoom.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can either have a physical afternoon or an afternoon where your sitting down in a chair and you\u2019re listening to speakers on different topics,\u201d shared Davis.<\/p>\n
All events will be live. There is a wide variety of events from Zumba and yoga, to how to make curry, to a talk about injury prevention: it is an event with something for everyone.<\/p>\n
As part of the event, there will be a special virtual room where three individuals who have made significant contributions to the community will be honored for their work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it is going to be a fun event,\u201d said Davis.<\/p>\n
