{"id":40198,"date":"2021-02-16T12:17:20","date_gmt":"2021-02-16T17:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=40198"},"modified":"2021-02-18T19:23:52","modified_gmt":"2021-02-19T00:23:52","slug":"health-care-reform-consultations-coming-to-sackville-on-march-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/health-care-reform-consultations-coming-to-sackville-on-march-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Health care reform consultations coming to Sackville on March 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A public consultation session on the future of health care in the province will come to Sackville, virtually, in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The province announced 15 virtual consultation sessions in all, with the first focussed on Sackville, on March 4th, at 6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Health minister Dorothy Shephard says she is \u201ccommitted to creating a better health-care system,\u201d and, \u201copen to listening to any and all ideas about how that can be accomplished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Back in January, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gnb.ca\/content\/gnb\/en\/news\/news_release.2021.01.0057.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">province published a discussion paper<\/a>\u00a0on health care reform which is available online.<\/p>\n<p>The paper proposes its vision for \u201cdependable, sustainable public health care\u201d and breaks down six objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>optimizing population health and well-being;<\/li>\n<li>providing access to care to patient-centred care;<\/li>\n<li>improving the outcomes in addiction and mental health care;<\/li>\n<li>improving services for seniors;<\/li>\n<li>using digital technologies to be innovative;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining and investing in facilities and equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-16-at-10.41.42-AM.png\"><img class=\"wp-image-9717\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-16-at-10.41.42-AM.png?resize=800%2C368\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"368\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Vision and objectives from New Brunswick\u2019s discussion paper on the future of health care.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 15 virtual consultation sessions will happen throughout March and April.
