Kat Pennier, The Grand Chief of the Sto:lo First Nation and a member of the Sto:lo Tribal Council spoke to CIVL on how the Sto:lo First Nation is dealing with COVID-19. Grand Chief Pennier says that several of the Sto:lo communities are under lockdown. He says that they have gatekeepers that monitor people coming and going from their communities. Grand Chief Pennier says that they had some COVID- 19 cases, but not in a great number like they have seen in other communities. He says one of the most difficult parts of the COVID-19 restrictions is how the restrictions have restricted their cultural gatherings.
