The Nelson Leafs Junior B hockey club have been told to pack up hopes of any 2020\/2021 season.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the province extended pandemic restrictions indefinitely.<\/p>\n

This winter, tens of thousands of hockey players across Canada have been shut out of the arena by COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Since the fall, in many BC arenas have been ordered empty, leagues have been cancelled, months of regularly held games and playoffs nixed, and practices too.<\/p>\n

In some jurisdictions, there were temporary delays bumped up throughout the season, and teams hoped some sort of league play would be kept alive this year.<\/p>\n

That was the case in British Columbia, where Junior B players aged 16 to 20, playing in three leagues across the province, were on-again, off again, for months until the news arrived this month.<\/p>\n
