The latter is very useful to have, says Macleod, \u201cbecause a lot of insurance companies are now requiring that homes have a back-up sump pump, just in case the power goes out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Macleod says EOS is coordinating the bulk purchase program as part of its work on climate change, with funding from the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEOS is interested in helping find climate solutions for basically any aspect of our lives,\u201d says Macleod. And the organization is also \u201cvery interested in helping to protect from natural weather events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSackville, and a lot of regions in the Tantramar area are located on flood zones,\u201d says Macleod. \u201cSo there\u2019s an increased risk of flooding and bank breach, should that ever occur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Macleod says people may not be able to rely on their experience with flooding in the past 20 years when they are planning ahead for the next 20.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to know what is going to happen with weather,\u201d says Macleod. \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly hard to predict.
