The Municipality of Grosse-Ile tabled a balanced budget in December of a little more than $1,228,000 for the year 2021 without any increase in property taxes for its residents.<\/p>\n
\"However, the increase in the value of the real estate stock is generating tax revenues that are about one per cent higher than last year,\" explained Mayor Rose-Elmonde Clarke.<\/p>\n
The intergenerational municipal park project, which the town hopes to complete this year, is taking up a large portion of the finances with an estimated cost of $208,400, a quarter of which comes from the unrestricted accumulated surplus.<\/p>\n
Clarke said that the developments will be carried out on the current site of the baseball field.<\/p>\n
The budget includes investments to carry out the plans and specifications for the rehabilitation of Wide\/Rock Mountain Road, 100 per cent financed by the Government of Quebec.<\/p>\n
The municipality of Grosse-Ile is also releasing $7,000 from its fiscal year to acquire a truck, its first operational vehicle.<\/p>\n
Finally, eight per cent of the expenses are devoted to debt repayment.<\/p>\n
