{"id":34509,"date":"2021-01-25T09:58:55","date_gmt":"2021-01-25T14:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=34509"},"modified":"2021-01-25T11:25:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T16:25:36","slug":"details-on-mount-allison-covid-19-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/details-on-mount-allison-covid-19-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Details on Mount Allison&#8217;s COVID-19 case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A positive case of COVID-19 in the Mount Allison community was announced on Jan. 21 by Director of Wellness and Accessibility Anne Comfort.<\/p>\n<p>Students and staff of the university were alerted by email that a person who lived off-campus tested positive, but had been self-isolating alone throughout the duration of their time in Sackville.<\/p>\n<p>CHMA was able to get a hold of Comfort to go over the details of the case, to confirm that it does not pose a significant threat to the general public due to its isolated nature.<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-34509-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Anne-Comfort-on-the-COVID-19-Case-in-MtA.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Anne-Comfort-on-the-COVID-19-Case-in-MtA.mp3\">https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Anne-Comfort-on-the-COVID-19-Case-in-MtA.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Comfort was unable to confirm whether the person was tested during one of Mount Allison\u2019s rounds of COVID-19 testing.<\/p>\n<p>But she did confirm that the person had travelled into New Brunswick from out-of-province. They began self-isolating upon their arrival in New Brunswick.<\/p>\n<p>The person was asymptomatic at the time of the diagnosis, and public health is checking on them every day.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, Mount Allison has no new cases to report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A positive case of COVID-19 in the Mount Allison community was announced on Jan. 21 by Director of Wellness and Accessibility Anne Comfort.
