This week brought an increase of 59 positive cases (Jan. 20), a decrease from 92 recorded the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have\u00a0 seven active cases. You know before the holidays it was 33 then we went up to 43, so we went up 10,\u201d clarified Richard Burcombe, mayor of Brome Lake, about the town's case count.<\/p>\n<p>The curfew was implemented Jan. 9 which can be seen as a contributor to the drop in active cases. The 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew is in place until Feb. 8 when it will either be extended or cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, it\u2019s working. What\u2019s in place is certainly working and we must keep, we can\u2019t let our guard down,\u201d said Burcombe.<\/p>\n<p>The province of Quebec reported 1,502 positive cases of COVID-19 and 66 deaths yesterday.
