MT-K:<\/strong> Everybody\u2019s joking about me handing over my baby to other people. I mean, it\u2019s kind of like that I\u2019ve been here so long. But really, we have so many good people who work at Open Sky, so many great board members. We have a lot of people in other partnerships of other organizations and levels of government that understand Open Sky\u2019s work. So I have great confidence that it has the strength to continue on very well without me, and I have the humility to know that there\u2019s a lot of other good people out there that can bring great new strengths to this organization. So I feel very optimistic about the future of Open Sky.<\/p>\nTusz-King assures Open Sky regulars that she will still be present and involved with the co-op, as well as other passion projects.<\/p>\n
In a letter published on Facebook addressed \u201cDear Friends,\u201d Tusz-King says that Open Sky was born to address lack of support for adults with disabilities and mental health challenges.<\/p>\n
Open Sky was created to bring opportunities to those who perhaps did not receive the guidance they needed during their schooling, and are now struggling in their adulthood.<\/p>\n
After ten years of helping build Open Sky to where it is today, Tusz-King is ready for a change of pace.<\/p>\n
MT-K:<\/strong>\u00a0My husband is retired, so he would like to see a little more of me. I have family in other provinces. I\u2019m hoping that we\u2019ll all have vaccines by the summer. I have an elderly mother in Ontario I\u2019d love to visit. We always joke at Open Sky is that the irony is that nobody can take summer holidays, because it\u2019s always the busiest time. So taking a summer holiday, that would be a real delight that I haven\u2019t been able to do for a while.<\/p>\nTusz-King says to start spreading the word throughout the community to find a new person right for the Executive Director position.<\/p>\n
