There was no discussion of COVID-19 impacting the towns budgets.<\/p>\n<p>The towns total revenue in 2020 was $11.6 million and is forecasted to total just over $12 million in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The largest portion of the town\u2019s budget was allocated to the transportation sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe key objective is to minimize increases in taxes,\u201d stated Lynda Graham, Town of Sutton councillor.<\/p>\n<p>Residential taxes will increase by 0.8 per cent, industrial taxes will remain stable, and agricultural tax will see a decrease of 2.3 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic forced increased spending in some sectors. Public security services will see an increased tax rate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was increased spending for public security, which unfortunately, will continue in 2021.
