Photo by: Maddy Smith<\/strong>efurbishment of the water tower.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n \u201cBut the expectation is that it will be passed, and refurbishing of the water tower which will involve painting will be included in that,\u201d Lennox said.<\/p>\n Lennox said that there is no reason to suggest that the slogan won\u2019t remain on the water tower.<\/p>\n The slogan that says \u2018High-Healthy-Happy\u2019 used to be seen on the township\u2019s two entryway signs last year, and then they were changed early fall to say, \u2018Simply Explore.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n Smith said there is change happening and it really feels like no one is talking to the community about it.<\/p>\n \u201cI think there\u2019s a fear that the town is just going to switch the slogan and not tell anyone,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n The mayor said he had a number of emails over the holidays of people expressing their desire to have the slogan remain.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just haven\u2019t reached that point of decision at this time,\u201d Lennox said. \u201cThere are certainly [\u2026] alternative viewpoints with regards to the connotations of the \u2018High-Healthy-Happy\u2019 that are very much present in the community as well. I understand that people don\u2019t necessary wholly agree on that, and [\u2026] that\u2019s fine.\u201d<\/p>\n Smith said that she thinks that losing the slogan is a slippery slope to just becoming another sterile community.<\/p>\n She said the community is unique, and everyone has their own culture and sense of identity.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think the \u2018Simply Explore\u2019<\/a> doesn\u2019t capture that, it just white washes us as another, you know, small town that\u2019s kind of been paved over, that\u2019s what it feels like to me,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n Lennox said the downtown revitalization committee did not want to see the, \u2018High-Healthy-Happy\u2019 slogan continue on the entryway signs, and council supported that, thus the change to the \u2018Simply Explore.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cNo details discussion has happened on what will be painted on the water tower or not painted on the water tower at this point,\u201d Lennox stressed.<\/p>\n Mount Forest resident Maddy Smith:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
