Due to COVID-19, all of the events will be held online and accessible to those who are interested at no cost. Among these events is\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Reading, Resiliency, and Indigenous Leadership<\/i>\u00a0hosted by author Elaine Alec (birth name Telxnitkw, which means Standing by Water). She will be speaking about her debut novel,\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Calling My Spirit Back,\u00a0<\/i>a account of survival, intergenerational trauma, and healing. Alec, an Indigenous community planner, women's advocate, and spiritual thought leader, deeply values the importance of recognizing as well as healing from trauma.<br \/>\nIn part one of our coverage of the Inspiring Women Among Us event series, we speak to Elaine Alec about how support, resilience, and the bravery of asking for help can allow for hope at times where you may feel helpless.Alec's presentation will be held over Blackboard Connect this upcoming Monday, November 23rd at 4:30 to 6:30PM (PST).
