{"id":197137,"date":"2023-11-22T16:37:18","date_gmt":"2023-11-22T21:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=197137"},"modified":"2023-11-22T16:37:18","modified_gmt":"2023-11-22T21:37:18","slug":"kootenay-co-op-radio-installs-new-tower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/kootenay-co-op-radio-installs-new-tower\/","title":{"rendered":"Kootenay Co-op Radio installs new tower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Editor's Note: Scott\u00a0Onyschak is a Local Journalism Initiative reporter who works at Kootenay Co-op Radio.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kootenaycoopradio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kootenay Co-op Radio<\/a> has installed a new radio tower north of Nelson on Elephant Mountain. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The previous tower was installed on the station\u2019s roof. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new tower allows the station to reach more communities and creates a higher quality signal by broadcasting in stereo, according to the station team. New communities reached include Castlegar, Trail, Salmo, Ymir and areas around Winlaw.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This improvement was one of several new changes announced at the station\u2019s annual general meeting on Nov. 17.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Programming Manager Ed Zych and Sponsorship Coordinator Amelie Sauqet-Davidson spoke about the impact these changes will have for the station and the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Listen to the story on CJLY below:<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Editor&#8217;s Note: Scott\u00a0Onyschak is a Local Journalism Initiative reporter who works at Kootenay Co-op Radio.\u00a0 Kootenay Co-op Radio has installed a new radio tower north of Nelson on Elephant Mountain.
