{"id":194224,"date":"2023-11-10T16:32:22","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T21:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=194224"},"modified":"2023-11-10T16:56:38","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T21:56:38","slug":"16-businesses-honoured-at-castlegar-chamber-of-commerce-business-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/16-businesses-honoured-at-castlegar-chamber-of-commerce-business-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"16 businesses honoured at Castlegar Chamber of Commerce Business Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/chamber.castlegar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Castlegar Chamber of Commerce<\/a> held their annual business awards last weekend. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Over 200 people representing 95 businesses attended the event held at the Castlegar Community Complex on Nov. 4 and 16 awards were given out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tammy Verigin-Burk, the Executive Director for Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the importance of business awards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cSmall businesses are the heartbeat of a community and without them a community can\u2019t thrive,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Verigin-Burk also spoke to the thriving economy in Castlegar, mentioning the competition for commercial space in the city, she said, \u201cwe literally have only two places for lease in Castlegar of commercial retail space.
