{"id":193389,"date":"2023-11-09T14:54:21","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T19:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=193389"},"modified":"2023-11-09T14:54:21","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T19:54:21","slug":"local-teacher-wins-premiers-awards-for-excellence-in-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/local-teacher-wins-premiers-awards-for-excellence-in-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Local teacher wins Premier\u2019s Awards for Excellence in Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, 34 education professionals from across the province were recognized for their contributions to their students, schools and community with the 2023 Premier\u2019s Awards for Excellence in Education, including a local teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Davy Dosanjh was born and raised in Terrace and is a former graduate of Caledonia Sr. Secondary School. He's now chair of Caledonia\u2019s social studies department, and he's involved in the school travel club, a debate club and is a key organizer each year of information and scheduling so that graduating students can apply for scholarships and bursaries.<\/p>\n<p>Dosanjh was nominated for the Excellence in Education award by Caledonia Secondary Counsellor Patsy Chant. The award also comes with a $2,000 bursary for professional learning.
