Saturday was voting day for the 2023 Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Band Council (SNEC) elections.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The voting took place at the Community Hall and the final announcements of the successful candidates began at 7:00 pm EST.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The voting was an in person process only with no option for online voting. The process started by voters entering the doors of the Community Hall than taking a left coming to the front desk where they were given instructions of how to vote and were given a voting package. Within the voting package was a ballot with 14 check boxes in total --\u00a0 2 for the candidates running for chief, and the remaining 12 check boxes for the candidates running for council.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This year there were only 2 candidates running for chief and 13 candidates running for council.
