{"id":192103,"date":"2023-11-03T15:45:13","date_gmt":"2023-11-03T19:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=192103"},"modified":"2023-12-01T15:46:32","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T20:46:32","slug":"corner-brook-mayor-says-water-treatment-chemicals-are-costing-40-per-cent-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/corner-brook-mayor-says-water-treatment-chemicals-are-costing-40-per-cent-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Corner Brook Mayor says water treatment chemicals are costing 40 per cent more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corner Brook city hall is looking to create more awareness about water conservation due to increasing costs of treatment chemicals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The issue was brought up during this week\u2019s council meeting; Mayor Jim Parsons says the cost of chemicals to treat water is going up by 40 percent. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe did approve a multi-year purchase of chemicals to treat water so every litre of water we save money,\u201d he says. \u201cIn past budgets, we approved leak detection but we will have to do so more public awareness of water usage to try and get that down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coun.
