{"id":190081,"date":"2023-10-25T15:20:53","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T19:20:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=190081"},"modified":"2023-10-30T15:21:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T19:21:20","slug":"pc-leader-calls-for-the-resignation-of-housing-minister-says-people-have-lost-confidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/pc-leader-calls-for-the-resignation-of-housing-minister-says-people-have-lost-confidence\/","title":{"rendered":"PC Leader calls for the resignation of housing minister, says people have lost confidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Newfoundland and Labrador PC Leader Tony Wakeham is calling for the resignation of the province\u2019s Housing Minister Paul Pike saying people have lost confidence in the Liberal Government\u2019s response to the housing crisis. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wakeham says the last week and a half in the House of Assembly has been a time of confusion with government\u2019s announcements on housing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOne day, they have 750 new units, next day they have 11, then one day 32 units in Corner Brook are part of a new 143 unit build, then they\u2019re not, but now they\u2019re being torn down because they\u2019ve gone beyond repair,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wakeham says people are losing confidence with government and this has to change.
