The most recent change to Elections BC\u2019s\u00a0Preliminary Voting Results<\/a>, at the time of this writing, was made at 2:53 PM on October 28, 2020.<\/p>\n

Same winners, different numbers<\/h2>\n

Though the\u00a0numbers changed, the list of winners has not<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The NDP appear to have been elected in eleven Vancouver Island ridings, and Green party MLAs were re-elected in the other two.<\/p>\n

NDP challenger Adam Walker is still a thousand votes ahead of the Liberal incumbent in Parksville-Qualicum, the closest race on Vancouver Island. The last Liberal riding appears to have gone NDP.<\/p>\n

In our North Island riding:\u00a0Michele Babchuk<\/a>\u2019s lead has widened, so that she is now close to 4,000 votes ahead of her closest challenger. That is now\u00a0Liberal candidate Norm Facey<\/a>, who replaced\u00a0Alexandra Morton<\/a>\u00a0as the\u00a0 runner up.<\/p>\n

This increases the number of ridings where the Liberals came in second to four; the Greens are runners up in the remaining seven ridings.<\/p>\n

More updates coming<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Elections BC<\/a>, \u201cDuring preparation for final count, district electoral officers will confirm voting results and certification envelope counts from absentee and vote-by-mail voting that was reported during initial count. Adjustments may be made to accurately reflect election night results, and the screening of certification envelopes. Results will not be finalized until final count is completed.\u201d<\/p>\n
