{"id":174968,"date":"2023-08-24T11:36:35","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T15:36:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=174968"},"modified":"2023-08-24T11:37:28","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T15:37:28","slug":"highway-4-closed-today-for-rock-scaling-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/highway-4-closed-today-for-rock-scaling-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Highway 4 closed today for rock scaling work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Highway 4 will be closed between 8:30 a.m and 9 p.m. today as rock-scaling work continues to shore up the cliffs at Angel Rock which were destabilized during the Cameron Lake wildfire earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe have significant boulders that are upslope of Highway 4 that are about a fridge in size for reference.\u201d said Janelle Staite, a regional deputy director with the Ministry of Transportation. \u201cWe need to bring those down in a very safe and controlled manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A detour from Lake Cowichan to Port Alberni is available for drivers during the closure.
