{"id":169747,"date":"2023-07-30T17:31:20","date_gmt":"2023-07-30T21:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=169747"},"modified":"2023-07-30T17:31:20","modified_gmt":"2023-07-30T21:31:20","slug":"columbia-basin-culture-tour-gets-ready-for-biggest-event-to-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/columbia-basin-culture-tour-gets-ready-for-biggest-event-to-date\/","title":{"rendered":"Columbia Basin Culture Tour gets ready for biggest event to date"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 15<sup>th<\/sup> annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wkartscouncil.com\/culture-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Columbia Basin Culture Tour<\/a> is back in the Kootenays this weekend and, with over 110 venues, this year\u2019s event is bigger than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by Columbia Basin Trust and managed by the West Kootenay Arts Council, the event provides local artists an opportunity to showcase their work and gives the public a look into the lives and studios of artists.<\/p>\n<p>To get an idea of what the culture tour is about, CJLY spoke with the Vice-President of the West Kootenay Arts Council Peter Vogelaar, as well as three artists who will be participating: <a href=\"https:\/\/kristinemcguintyart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kristine McGuinty<\/a> of Gray Creek; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carolretzlafffineart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carol Retzlaff<\/a> of Glade; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/larsbaggenstos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lars Baggenstos<\/a> of Ymir all shared their thoughts on the culture tour and discussed the art they\u2019ll have on display.<\/p>\n<p>The event runs this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to the story below:<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 15th annual Columbia Basin Culture Tour is back in the Kootenays this weekend and, with over 110 venues, this year\u2019s event is bigger than ever before.
