{"id":15563,"date":"2020-10-19T14:25:03","date_gmt":"2020-10-19T18:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=15563"},"modified":"2020-10-19T15:45:18","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T19:45:18","slug":"wear-your-jammies-for-hayden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/wear-your-jammies-for-hayden\/","title":{"rendered":"Wear your jammies for Hayden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The fight against childhood cancer is never ending and that\u2019s why the founders of Hayden\u2019s Hope Foundation are encouraging everyone to wear their pajamas tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Mount Forest native Lindsay Foulon is the co-founder of Hayden\u2019s Hope Foundation, named after her daughter, Hayden, who battled cancer for 6 years, and then left the world at the age of seven-years-old last October.<\/p>\n<p>Foulon says tomorrow is Hayden\u2019s first \"Angelversary\" which has been dubbed Jammie Day because Hayden was often in her pajamas battling the disease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHayden was the happiest and comfiest in her pajamas and I feel like the kids who go through these treatments actually spend a lot of time in their pajamas, to be honest,\u201d Foulon said.<\/p>\n<p>Foulon says her sister, Jodi Rawn, is the other founder of Hayden\u2019s Hope Foundation and explains the three main goals the two are trying to achieve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMental health support for parents who are supporting their child while going through cancer treatments, we want to also help families financially when they have to go to remote hospitals, and we also want to help the never-ending need for childhood cancer research funding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foulon says Jammie Day is an effort to increase awareness and also because only four per cent of cancer funding is directed towards treating childhood cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just want to support, we know there\u2019s a lot of good organizations out there that are trying to do the exact same thing that we\u2019re doing, but it\u2019s never going to be enough because of the lack of funding.
