It was a double celebration because the RCMP is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca\/rcmp150-grc150\/index-eng.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celebrating a century and a half this year<\/a>. The official anniversary of the RCMP is May 23, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The village that is now known as Bryson was <a href=\"https:\/\/toponymie.gouv.qc.ca\/ct\/ToposWeb\/fiche.aspx?no_seq=379331\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">originally named Havelock from 1858-1873<\/a>, after a British General, Sir Henry Havelock.
