{"id":152563,"date":"2023-05-08T16:37:43","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T20:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=152563"},"modified":"2023-05-09T10:02:49","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T14:02:49","slug":"school-bus-driver-strike-no-progress-in-negotiations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/school-bus-driver-strike-no-progress-in-negotiations\/","title":{"rendered":"School bus driver strike: no progress in negotiations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the <a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/unionized-school-bus-drivers-begin-strike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">school bus driver strike<\/a> in the Outaouais hit the one week mark, negotiations between the bus operator and the union are still at a standstill.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview this afternoon (May 8) Denis Ouellette, a representative with Teamsters Local 106, the union representing school bus drivers from the region, said that there has been nothing but radio silence from SOGESCO, the parent company of the local bus operators. In the Pontiac, the union represents 97 drivers for Autobus Lasalle.<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-152563-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-strike-update.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-strike-update.mp3\">https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-strike-update.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Ouellette expressed sympathy for the parents who have to drive their children to school during the course of the strike.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-152563-2\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-word-to-parents.mp3?_=2\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-word-to-parents.mp3\">https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Clip-Denis-Ouellette-word-to-parents.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>CHIP 101.9 requested comment from SOGESCO's public relations representative Myl\u00e8ne Forget, but have yet to receive a response.
