{"id":149811,"date":"2023-04-24T08:46:49","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T12:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=149811"},"modified":"2023-04-24T13:52:45","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T17:52:45","slug":"renovated-and-expanded-bagtown-set-to-reopen-on-may-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/renovated-and-expanded-bagtown-set-to-reopen-on-may-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Renovated and expanded Bagtown Brewery set to reopen May 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Renovations have taken a little longer than originally predicted, but Sackville\u2019s Bagtown Brewery has announced it will reopen on May 6 in an expanded space at its Main Street location.<\/p>\n<p>Owner Anthony Maddelena is calling May 6 a \"soft\" reopening, as the full concept of the new space won\u2019t be in place. A mystery partner is in line to take over the kitchen and start offering food, but Maddelena is holding out on details except to say, \u201cburgers and tacos\u201d might be on offer.<\/p>\n<p>For the soft reopening, Maddelena says he will have \u201ca good handful of Bagtown beers back on tap,\u201d along with some guest taps. Bagtown\u2019s \"To Go\" fridge will also be stocked with Bagtown products and \u201clots of new things from around the province.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It will take some time to get fully stocked on beers as Maddelena turns his attention from construction and renovations back to brewing in May. He says there will be some new drinks rolling out, including beers, ciders, and some new non-alcoholic beverages.<\/p>\n<p>The Bagtown patio should be upacked and ready for seating on May 6, says Maddelena.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWill they have a nice crisp, fresh coat of paint on them yet? Probably not,\u201d he laughs. \u201cThat\u2019ll be maybe a week or two later.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maddelena says his staff will consist of two interns from Mount Allison as well as two former interns. He\u2019s hoping to host a grand opening event near the end of May once the operation is up to full gear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBagtown\u2019s really never done a grand opening ever,\u201d says Maddalena, \u201cso that\u2019s something I\u2019m looking forward to doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, Maddalena is excited for people to see the newly renovated space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been putting a lot of hard work into it,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s coming together really nicely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He says he\u2019s looking forward to hosting events that are less weather dependent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a nice indoor space now,\u201d he says, which can host Bagtown\u2019s popular trivia nights, and \u201cmaybe a little bit of live music, things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Here's Anthony Maddelena in conversation on CHMA's Tantramar Report:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renovations have taken a little longer than originally predicted, but Sackville\u2019s Bagtown Brewery has announced it will reopen on May 6 in an expanded space at its Main Street location.
