{"id":147536,"date":"2023-04-05T17:22:27","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T21:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=147536"},"modified":"2023-04-05T17:22:27","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T21:22:27","slug":"country-music-alberta-awards-rocks-the-grey-eagle-resort-casino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/country-music-alberta-awards-rocks-the-grey-eagle-resort-casino\/","title":{"rendered":"Country Music Alberta Awards rocks the Grey Eagle Resort &amp; Casino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend, the 12th annual Country Music Alberta Awards (CMAAs) took over the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>Artists from all over Alberta and beyond came together to celebrate and to award those who made contributions in the country music community over the year.<\/p>\n<p>Mallory Chipman of Edmonton and Fr\u00e9drique \u201cFreddi\u201d MacDougall of Montreal, who are originally from Alberta, make up the country duo called \u201cThe Goddamsels.\u201d They spoke about their time at the CMAAs, saying that it is their first time being at this event and that \"it's a lot of fun.\"<\/p>\n<p>The CMAAs held a songwriter\u2019s circle on Sunday morning before the awards show to follow that evening where The Goddamsels, along with other artists, were able to share songs that are personal to them and explain their journeys - from playing small shows to playing eventually at the CMAAs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mep_1\" class=\"mejs-container mejs-container-keyboard-inactive wp-audio-shortcode mejs-audio\" role=\"application\" aria-label=\"Audio Player\">\n<div class=\"mejs-inner\">\n<div class=\"mejs-controls\">\n<div class=\"mejs-horizontal-volume-total\">\n<div class=\"mejs-horizontal-volume-current\">Both Chipman and MacDougall have been playing together for a number of years, even with the distance between the two. They were honored to play with all the other artists at the CMAAs this year, saying that \"it's been such a pleasure.
