{"id":145290,"date":"2023-03-20T14:42:44","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T18:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=145290"},"modified":"2023-03-20T15:51:47","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T19:51:47","slug":"pec-greenlights-queen-elizabeth-school-offer-to-purchase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/pec-greenlights-queen-elizabeth-school-offer-to-purchase\/","title":{"rendered":"PEC greenlights Queen Elizabeth School offer to purchase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Prince Edward County council unanimously gave the greenlight for the county to proceed with its conditional offer to purchase the former Queen Elizabeth School from the local public school board on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Edward Lennox-Addington Social Services (PELASS), in partnership with the county, plan to build affordable and attainable housing, as well as childcare and medical facilities, on the 4.59 acre site.<\/p>\n<p>The conditional offer will be for $1 million dollars, with $200,000 coming from municipal sources, upon condition of the purchasers securing funding through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) National Housing Strategy Co-Investment Funding Program, which would fully reimburse them for the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Dowdall, executive director of housing for the county, in response to Sophiasburgh Coun.
