{"id":142308,"date":"2023-02-27T15:39:52","date_gmt":"2023-02-27T20:39:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=142308"},"modified":"2023-02-27T15:39:52","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T20:39:52","slug":"family-reunion-kicks-off-performance-year-for-aspen-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/family-reunion-kicks-off-performance-year-for-aspen-king\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Family Reunion\u2019 kicks off performance year for Aspen King"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Local DJ legend Aspen King plans to kick off the festival season with a local triple header this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Aspen will be joined on stage by her sister Carmanah and father Ian at \u201cFamily Reunion,\u201d a musical event at the Gorge Hall on March 4. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The young entertainer boasts her Cortes culture roots run deep.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI pretty much grew up around DJs and I'm pretty sure\u2026 my mom was pregnant with me the first time I went to Carrington (Rave).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aspen\u2019s dad was a DJ \u201cback in the day,\u201d and Ian is making his comeback at the \"Family Reunion.\" Carmanah will also be performing a DJ set, and all three plan to perform together at the end of the night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aspen has historically offered DJ events at the Gorge Hall called \u201cCabin Fever.\u201d She wasn\u2019t able to put on these events for three years during the pandemic but hopes this event will revive that tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After this weekend\u2019s local show, Aspen will be headed to Costa Rica to play at \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/jungledreaming.com\/artist-lineup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jungle Dreaming<\/a>\u201d March 17-19. The Central American event will bring several Cortesian fans and friends to the heat. Local DJ RichGaud will be performing while also featuring Stanton Warriors and Neon Steve. The event is the first of its kind, organized by Lilith Klassen, also connected to Cortes.
