The former nurse had submitted fraudulent documentation and credentials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The woman in question, who has yet to be identified, was most often assigned on Kidd 6, the post-surgical unit at the Kingston General Hospital. She was employed in July 2022 and worked until January 2023. KHSC mentions that the individual also <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">worked many other shifts in different units between Dec. 1, 2022, and Jan. 27, 2023, including the Admission and Transfer Unit (ATU), Connell\u00a010, Kid<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">d\u00a09.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cWe understand the stress and anxiety this news may cause for our patients and other KHSC staff. We will work directly with the impacted patients, families, and staff to address their concerns,\" says Dr. David Pichora, president and CEO, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/kingstonhsc.ca\/khsc-launches-investigation-former-staff-member\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KHSC news release Feb. 8<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\"We are committed to providing patients and their families with safe, high-quality care at all times and we are committed to speaking with each individual that reaches out to us using the contact information that has been provided to the patients who have been impacted,\u201d the statement continues.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">KHSC has informed the CNO, as well as the local police department, and stated that the centre will cooperate with any investigations conducted by external parties regarding this incident.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>More with CFRC's Alexandra Fernandes:<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is investigating a former staff member who falsely claimed she was a registered nurse (RN) under the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
