{"id":138450,"date":"2023-01-30T14:01:45","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T19:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=138450"},"modified":"2023-01-30T14:01:45","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T19:01:45","slug":"ksan-society-sees-terrace-support-coldest-night-of-the-year-walk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/ksan-society-sees-terrace-support-coldest-night-of-the-year-walk\/","title":{"rendered":"Ksan Society sees Terrace support Coldest Night of the Year walk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terrace\u2019s Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) fundraiser for the 2023 winter season is off to a good start, according to event organizers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vicky Serafini, communication specialist for Ksan Society, says that CNOY works to raise awareness for the vulnerable population as much as raising funds. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the time of speaking, Sarafini said there were 75 people registered as walkers toward their 100 person goal, which has now increased to 84.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ksan\u2019s total fundraising goal is $30,000, which is currently 71 per cent complete thanks to a series of both individual and corporate donations, which is at an all time high. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seeing the amount of support already gained through participants and donations, with 26 days left until the event, is something that Sarafini says is \u201cthrilling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All of the funds raised for Ksan will be used for basic operating costs within their shelters, which Sarafini says are operating beyond what they\u2019re contracted for.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Groceries, hygiene basics, and cleaning supplies for the shelters are among some of the needs for the society\u2019s three shelters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The CNOY walk is happening on Feb. 25 starting at The Garage on Kalum Street at 4 p.m. and will circle around George Little Park.
