{"id":135266,"date":"2023-01-10T15:16:23","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T20:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=135266"},"modified":"2023-01-10T15:18:12","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T20:18:12","slug":"terrace-starts-weekly-creativity-circles-for-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/terrace-starts-weekly-creativity-circles-for-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Terrace starts weekly &#8216;creativity circles&#8217; for women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an effort to enhance community through art, a Women\u2019s Sacred Creativity Circle is now being held weekly at the Terrace Sportsplex.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Although they have experience holding \"mother circles\" as a registered post-partum doula, organizer Amy Bolton started the circle in an effort to create a safe space for all women to express themselves through art.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. a ceremony of breathing exercises, song, and movement will open up the circle. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bolton says that starting the night this way helps women to ground themselves in an effort to open themselves to creativity and inspiration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c...That\u2019s the idea of the ceremony, letting go of all those judgments and stories and things that society creates where things have to be you know\u2026 the perfectionism and all that stuff and just doing what needs to happen and you never really know what gets created from that,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After the opening ceremony, art tools will be provided, including natural materials like sticks, leaves, and grass. attendees are also welcome to bring whatever materials inspire them.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bolton says that they want to enhance participants' bond with mother nature through the use of natural resources in art.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAt the root of the work that I do, I believe that we need to come back to community, we need to come back to supporting one another,\u201d Bolton said on the program's purpose.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each night closes out with a reflection period for attendees to share and reflect, though Bolton says there is no pressure to contribute. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drawing inspiration from other similar events they had participated in previously like mother circles and women's retreats, Bolton said the act of listening is important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cA big part of it is embodiment, getting back into our bodies, letting go of whatever else is going on in our lives\u2026 and listen to our intuition and listen to that feminine flow of energy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The event is all ages, free of charge and children are welcome.
