{"id":131477,"date":"2022-12-11T18:10:35","date_gmt":"2022-12-11T23:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=131477"},"modified":"2022-12-11T18:10:35","modified_gmt":"2022-12-11T23:10:35","slug":"local-mla-and-farmers-in-the-fraser-valley-believe-that-flood-compensation-paperwork-is-too-complicated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/local-mla-and-farmers-in-the-fraser-valley-believe-that-flood-compensation-paperwork-is-too-complicated\/","title":{"rendered":"Local MLA and farmers in the Fraser Valley believe that flood compensation paperwork is too complicated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Abbotsford South MLA, Bruce Banman believes the provincial government needs to improve its compensation process for local farmers impacted by last year's floods.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWhen I talk to a lot of the farmers what I'm hearing is that it is taking way too long to get the final approval that is required to actually get a cheque.\u201d Beyond the wait, Banman also says compensation doesn\u2019t match what farmers were expecting. \u201cWhat they thought they were promised and what they\u2019re actually getting is different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Banman further laments that there is too much paperwork, and the application process itself is onerous.
