{"id":128005,"date":"2022-11-22T13:26:02","date_gmt":"2022-11-22T18:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=128005"},"modified":"2022-11-22T13:26:02","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T18:26:02","slug":"first-responder-gunsnhoses-hockey-tournament-back-after-two-year-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/first-responder-gunsnhoses-hockey-tournament-back-after-two-year-break\/","title":{"rendered":"First responder &#8216;Guns&#8217;n&#8217;Hoses&#8217; hockey tournament back after two year break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After a two year COVID-19 hiatus, Terrace\u2019s police and firefighter crews are hitting the ice again to fundraise for the Jumpstart foundation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since 2009, the city\u2019s police department has organized their Guns\u2019n\u2019Hoses tournament, which sees a hockey face off with the fire department to fundraise for children\u2019s sports organizations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First held after Terrace was named \"Hockeyville\" 13 years ago, the funds originally went to KidSport Canada. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After that, the detachment started giving the proceeds to Canadian Tire\u2019s Jumpstart Program, which helps kids get involved with local sport teams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There will also be a puck toss this year. Attendees can buy a puck during the game for the chance to win a prize being presented by Save-On Foods.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So far the Hoses have won 6 out of the 12 games, meaning the RCMP have the chance to even out the tally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The game takes place this weekend on Nov. 25 at the Terrace Sportsplex.
