{"id":124853,"date":"2022-11-02T16:50:46","date_gmt":"2022-11-02T20:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=124853"},"modified":"2022-11-02T16:50:46","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T20:50:46","slug":"prince-rupert-societies-work-to-support-displaced-ukrainians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/prince-rupert-societies-work-to-support-displaced-ukrainians\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince Rupert societies work to support displaced Ukrainians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A dinner to raise funds to help families who have recently relocated from Ukraine being hosted by the Prince Rupert Society for Refugee Support this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ray Pederson, a volunteer for the society, says 35 people in the last six months have arrived in Prince Rupert from Ukraine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The event is being held at the Highliner Inn ballroom on Nov. 5: the dinner will feature homemade Ukrainian foods like pierogies, cabbage rolls, and borscht and will be followed by live music and a loonie auction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There will also be a photography exhibit happening at the beginning of December which captures Ukrainian land and cityscapes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018In Ukraine\u2019 is organized by the Prince Rupert Ukrainian Society, a different society which organizes events like monthly socials, and provides information services around language and permanent residency for Ukrainians.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to the CFNR story with Ray Pederson below:<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A dinner to raise funds to help families who have recently relocated from Ukraine being hosted by the Prince Rupert Society for Refugee Support this weekend.
