{"id":112976,"date":"2022-08-25T16:43:42","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T20:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/?p=112976"},"modified":"2022-08-25T18:53:12","modified_gmt":"2022-08-25T22:53:12","slug":"terrace-rcmp-welcomes-new-officer-in-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canada-info.ca\/en\/terrace-rcmp-welcomes-new-officer-in-charge\/","title":{"rendered":"Terrace RCMP welcomes new officer in charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terrace RCMP has introduced new acting Officer in Charge Terry Gillespie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After holding the position for eleven years, Michael Robinson made the transition into a regional role which oversees surrounding detachments.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gillespie was announced to be taking over in November 2021, officially starting on July 27, 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gillespie brings with him seventeen total years of policing experience, but has held commanding officer positions since 2013.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">His northwest experience started in Burns Lake where he was commanding officer for a year before moving to Daajing Giids and then Smithers for three years each holding the same position.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Having years of background in the northwest, Gillespie said he hopes to continue making connections with Indigenous nations surrounding the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gillespie says that he has no plans to make any immediate changes to the Terrace detachment, but, instead, is hoping to make a few small technique changes over a longer period of time.
