The TD<\/span>\u00a0Halifax Pride\u00a0Block<\/span>\u00a0Party<\/span> took over Argyle Street yesterday, creating a colourful zone full of pride to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n

The event included games, candy, face painting, sketch artists, magicians, snow cones, photo booths, music and more.<\/p>\n

Atlantic Canada TD Community Engagement Manager Tina Murphy worked with Halifax Pride<\/a>\u00a0to make sure their plans were aligned. And although there were setbacks because of the pandemic, TD was excited to bring the annual block party back in a bigger way this year.<\/p>\n

\"We wanted a street that showcased both color and our pride, so we brought in face painters, a magician, we have cotton candy, popcorn, we've got a football toss, a photo frame and drag queens,\" Murphy said.<\/p>\n

Lisa Bugden, general manager at Neptune Theatre,<\/a> has been participating and assisting with TD's block party for five years.<\/p>\n

\"We're so excited to have this on our doorstep. We've always partnered with TD to bring the whole community together and to celebrate Pride. We've supplied some services, electricity being one of them, and some equipment,\" said Bugden.<\/p>\n

Adults and kids enjoyed acrobat and performances, one of them by Bill Wood, a magician and circus artist with Atlantique Cirque LTD<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"I am also a member of the LGBTQ community. So it was a happy coincidence to get to hang out with fun people and play with circus toys and teach magic tricks, and also be out with a great community,\" Wood said.<\/p>\n
